RESEARCHERS' NIGHT IN REPUBLIC OF MACEDONIA 2009

Objective

Project's general objective consists of developing and maintaining positive public relations among the research community and the wider population. Public perception of the researchers is the focal point of the event and it contributes towards its shaping in a positive way. The programme of activities will be varied and address to all age categories and groups of the population, regardless of their level of socio-economic background. Prior to the event itself, guided tours and promotional events will be held, while shows, exhibitions, hands on experiments, demonstrations and other activities for promotion of the researchers in three cities will be offered during the night itself. A European corner will emphasize the European dimension of the event, and winners of the Poster Competition will be rewarded. The event will be organised by the AEC with its three organizational units in Skopje, Bitola and Stip, In order to reach the general objective there are also several specific objectives related to implementation of this event: • To establishing a clear picture of the current state of affairs related to the public perception of the researchers in Macedonia; • To utilize the researchers’ experience for improvement of the aspect of public perception of their profession; • To diversify the focus groups, disciplines and scope of participants and to assure a massive public response. In order to reach these objectives the following actions will be undertaken during the implementation of the Researchers’ night project in 2009: • Effective awareness campaign; • Attractive activities during the night, and; • Measurable Impact assessment.
