Terpenes via Asymmetric Catalytic One-Pot Synthesis: A Lifelong Training & Career Development Project

Objective

"TACOS offers a first class training experience to a very promising young researcher based on a broad and high-impact, yet feasible, training program at the cutting edge of catalysis, dynamic covalent chemistry, green chemistry and asymmetric organic synthesis. The researcher will be trained in a scientific environment of the highest quality, cultivating his independence as a scientist and restarting his research career within Europe.
The researcher will develop chiral boronic acid catalysts that enable asymmetric dehydrative cyclizations of terpenoid alcohols to allow one-step synthetic access to the carbocyclic skeleton of terpenes. The results generated from the project will serve to give an edge to the European pharmaceutical and fine chemical industries while attracting interest from the organocatalysis community in Europe and abroad."

Fields of science (EuroSciVoc)

CORDIS classifies projects with EuroSciVoc, a multilingual taxonomy of fields of science, through a semi-automatic process based on NLP techniques. See: https://op.europa.eu/en/web/eu-vocabularies/euroscivoc.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Call for proposal

Procedure for inviting applicants to submit project proposals, with the aim of receiving EU funding.

Funding Scheme

Funding scheme (or “Type of Action”) inside a programme with common features. It specifies: the scope of what is funded; the reimbursement rate; specific evaluation criteria to qualify for funding; and the use of simplified forms of costs like lump sums.
