Objective "TACOS offers a first class training experience to a very promising young researcher based on a broad and high-impact, yet feasible, training program at the cutting edge of catalysis, dynamic covalent chemistry, green chemistry and asymmetric organic synthesis. The researcher will be trained in a scientific environment of the highest quality, cultivating his independence as a scientist and restarting his research career within Europe. The researcher will develop chiral boronic acid catalysts that enable asymmetric dehydrative cyclizations of terpenoid alcohols to allow one-step synthetic access to the carbocyclic skeleton of terpenes. The results generated from the project will serve to give an edge to the European pharmaceutical and fine chemical industries while attracting interest from the organocatalysis community in Europe and abroad."
