Objective
The main aim of the project Value4Wool is to enhance coarse wool fleeces as a highly efficient organic fertiliser and soil amendment. The transfer of this side product into a marketable product for selected horticultural and agricultural branches strengthens environmentally friendly sheep farming as well as the application of fertilisers with a high nutrition value and soil-protecting behaviour. The advantages of this raw material have already been proved and successfully demonstrated for plant nutrition and erosion protection in horticulture.
Besides the technology for pelletizing the market penetration is of crucial importance for establishing the wool fertiliser on market. This applies to purchasing and selling market accordingly. Entry in market shall be organised based on a regional structure avoiding traffic effort for the high volume raw material as well as accepting and ensuring the principle framework of organic agriculture. Interested entities in the agriculture sector like cooperatives, SME, farmers etc all over Europe shall belong to a spatially clustered structure or grid, acting as stakeholders in relevant regions. Striving for an organisation in a European cluster structure yields an additional advantage. The clusters can spread over suitable European regions with high output of raw coarse wool.
