DESIGN AND DEVELOPMENT OF A COMBUSTOR TO UTILISE WDF OF A HIGH EFFICIENCY LEVEL.

THE RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT WILL RELATE TO FOUR MAIN CONSIDERATIONS:
A) THE DESIGN OF A COMBUSTION CHAMBER WILL TAKE INTO CONSIDERATION THE VOLATILE NATURE AND ASH CONTENT OF THE FUEL, WITH A GRATE SYSTEM WHICH WILL, BY AGITATION OF THE FUEL AND BY A MECHANISM OF INTIMATE COMBUSTION AIR MIXTURE WITH THE VOLATILE GASSES, PRODUCE A HIGH LEVEL EFFICIENCY.
B) THE DESIGN AN AIR HEAT EXCHANGER WHICH WILL OPERATE AT A HIGH LEVEL OF EFFICIENCY AND BE CAPABLE OF HEATING 150 CU. METRES OF ATMOSPHERIC AIR PER MINUTE TO A TEMPERATURE OF 350 DEGRES CENTIGRADE AND BE RESISTANT TO FLUE DUST FOULING.
C) THE DESIGN OF A WDF METERING FEEDER TO CHARGE THE COMBUSTION CHAMBER AT A CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE RATE.
D) THE DESIGN OF AN AUTOMATIC CONTROL MECHANISM WHICH WILL PERMIT THE COMBUSTION EQUIPMENT TO START UP, PROVIDE A CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE HEAT OUTPUT ACCORDING TO THE NEEDS OF THE WDF PROCESS, AND TO SHUT DOWN AT THE END OF A PRODUCTION SHIFT, WITHOUT MANUAL INVOLVEMENT.
