Objective OPERATION AND OPTIMIZATION OF A LAB SCALE MODEL PLANT WILL FURNISH ALL INFORMATION NECESSARY FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF A SEMI-TECHNICAL PLANT FOR ANAEROBIC TREATMENT OF OLIVE PROCESSING WASTES. THE TREATMENT PROCESS SHOULD YIELD HUIGH METHANE PRODUCTION AS WELL AS GOOD RESULTS CONCERNING THE FURTHER WASTE WATER TREATMENT. THE INFORMATION OBTAINED WILL BE USED FOR EXPERIMENTS WITH A SEMI-TECHNICAL UNIT IN AN EXISTING OIL FACTORY IN GREECE. THESE EXPERIMENTS SHOULD YIELD INFORMATION NECESSARY FOR DEVELOPMENT AND OPTIMIZATION OF TECHNICAL UNITS, ESPECIALLY UNDER CONDITIONS OF FLUCTUATION IN LOAD AND COMPOSITION OF SEWAGE.
