HYDROLYSIS OF CELLULOSE AND HEMICELLULOSE. VALORIZATION OF LIGNIN.

Objectif



A GENERAL AND ECONOMICAL PROCESS OF RECYCLING OF CELLULOSE WASTE IMPLIES THE SEPARATION AND VALORISATION OF HEMICELLULOSE, LIGNIN AND CELLULOSE AND THE RECOVERY OF ENZYME USED FOR THAT PURPOSE.
THE AIM OF PROJECT IS TO DEVELOP SUCH A PROCESS BY EXTENSIVE RESEARCH IN FIELDS OF GENERAL SCIENTIFIC INTEREST SUCH AS ENZYMATIC REACTIONS AND HETEROGENEOUS REACTIONS ASSISTED BY MECHANICAL ACTION.
IN THE GENERAL CASE OF WASTE CONTAINING HEMICELLULOSE, LIGNIN AND CELLULOSE, THE FIRST STEP IS THE SOLUBILISATION OF HEMICELLULOSE IN DILUTE ACID MEDIUM. THREE POSSIBLE PATHS ARE THEN TO BE DEVELOPED FOR THE ENZYMATIC ATTACK OF CELLULOSE :- THE USE OF ACTIVATED ENZYMES ABLE TO HYDROLYSE CELLULOSE IN THE PRESENCE OF LIGNIN. ACTIVATED ENZYMES ARE OBTAINED EITHER BY SELECTION OF CELLULOSES ACTIVE IN THE PRESENCE OF LIGNIN OR BY THE USE OF ADDITIVES INHIBITING THE DEACTIVATION OF ENZYMES IN THE REACTION MEDIUM.
- THE ELIMINATION OF LIGNIN IN WEAKLY OXIDISING ACID MEDIUM OR IN BASIC MEDIUM FOLLOWED BY HYDROLYSIS WITH ENZYMES STABILISED IN MICROEMULSIONS AND RECOVERABLE.
- THE HYDROLYSIS WITH IMMOBILISED ENZYMES OF SOLUBLE DERIVATIVES OF CELLULOSE.
A NEW CHEA METHOD OF ENZYME IMMOBILISATION IS PRESENTLY STUDIED.
