Objetivo TO DEVELOP A NEW PROCESS FOR THE TREATMENT OF DIFFERENT CUPROUS MATERIALS ASSOCIATED WITH METALS ALREADY RECOVERED IN ZINC METALLURGY, WITH A GOOD YIELD. THE ZINC ELECTROLYTIC REFINING PROCESSES WERE DEVELOPED FOR THE TREATMENT OF GOOD QUALITY ZINC CONCENTRATES. UP TO NOW, THE COOPER CONTAINED IN THESE ORES WAS BADLY RECOVERED, IN AN IMPURE CEMENT FORM AT 45 % COPPER, WHICH LEADS ELECTROLYTIC ZINC PLANTS TO LIMIT TO A MINIMUM THE COPPER CONTENT OF THE ORES. COPPER BENEFICIATION CAN BE CONTEMPLATED PREFERENTIALLY IN THE FORM OF MARKETABLE SALTS, PARTICULARLY SULPHATES AND OXYCHLORIDES. THE PRIVILIGED TECHNICAL APPROACH WOULD CONSIST IN PRECIPATATING COPPER INTO CUPROUS CHLORIDES FORM, A PARTICULARLY INSOLUBLE SALT IN SULPHATE MEDIUM, WHICH HAS, IN THE AREA OF ZINC METALLURGY, TWO DETERMINING ADVANTAGES : - TO MAKE POSSIBLE THE ELIMINATION OF ASSOCIATED CHLORINE, WHICH INTERFERES WITH ZINC ELECTROLYSIS, AND - TO PRECIPITATE SELECTIVELY A COPPER SALT EASY TO PURIFY. THE COPPER SALTS (SULPHATES AND OXYCHLORIDES) ARE USED IN THE EEC AT A RATE OF SEVERAL TENS OF THOUSANDS OF TONS PER YEAR. THEY ARE PRODUCED BY THE DISSOLUTION OF METAL COPPER WHICH IS OFTEN VERY PURE. IT APPERARS THAT IT IS BETTER TO AVOID THE METAL STATE STEP BY TRANSFORMING DIRECTLY MORE OR LESS OXIDIZED RESIDUES INTO MARKETABLE SALTS. THE STUDY OF COPPER SELECTIVE SEPARATION INTO CEMENT OR CUPROUS CHLORIDE FORM. . THE STUDY OF COPPER SELECTIVE SEPARATION INTO CEMENT OR CUPROUS CHLORIDE FORM. .
