Objectif Well CL-1 was planned in an effort to develop high temperature geothermal resources for the production of electric power to supply a portion of the power demand of the island of Sao Miguel. Drilling of CL-1 was successfully completed in February 1989. At that time, monitoring and testing activities were begun as the well heated up after drilling. Tests have confirmed that CL-1 is a commercially productive geothermal well and that a high temperature resource exists in Cachacos-Lombadas. The primary purpose of this report is to present a description and analysis of the data collected during the short term flow test.
