Obiettivo THE AIM OF THE PROJECT IS TO DEMONSTRATE THE FEASIBILITY OF USING SOLID-RESORPTION CYCLES FOR UPGRADING INDUSTRIAL WASTE HEAT UP TO 300 CELSIUS DEGREES WHERE IT CAN BE USED FOR PROCESS PURPOSES. WITH AMMONIA AS THE WORKING FLUID AND METAL HALIDES AS ABSORBENTS HIGH TEMPERATURE HEAT SOURCES CAN BE UTILIZED WITHOUT INCURRING PROBLEMS WITH CHEMICAL STABILITY OR CORROSION. HIGHER COPS ' S CAN BE OBTAINED THAN IS POSSIBLE WITH THE TRADITIONAL RESORPTION CYCLES WITH WATER AS THE ABSORBENT AND, DUE TO THE NEGLIGIBLE VAPOUR PRESSURE OF THE SOLID ABSORBENTS, THE SYSTEMS BECOME MUCH SIMPLER. THE MAIN DRAW-BACK OF SOLID-ABSORPTION CYCLES, THAT THEY ARE INHERENTLY PERIODIC, CAN BE CIRCUMVENTED IN VARIOUS WAYS.
