BEHAVIOUR OF RADIONUCLIDES IN MARINE, FRESHWATER AND TERRESTRIAL ENVIRONMENTS

Objetivo

THE OBJECTIVE OF THE PROPOSED RESEARCH IS TO ACQUIRE MORE COMPREHENSIVE KNOWLEDGE OF THE BEHAVIOUR OF RADIONUCLIDES IN THE MARINE, FRESHWATER AND TERRESTRIAL ENVIRONMENTS.
The behaviour of neptunium in marine ecosystems has been studied. This has included the study of the exchange of radionuclides between sea and atmosphere the radioecology of continental waters, radium transfer in fresh water ecosystems and radionuclide deposition on vegetation and soils.

The result obtained in this work are in the following areas:
behaviour of neptunium in marine ecosystems;
radionuclide exchange between air and sea;
continental water radioecology;
radium transfer in freshwater ecosystems;
tritium cycling;
radiological impact of accidentally released radionuclides;
comparative study of soil to plant transfer of neptunium, plutonium and americium;
radionuclide desposition on vegetation and soils.

Studies have included:
behaviour of neptunium in marine ecosystems;
