Objetivo THE BASIC OBJECTIVES RELATED TO THE CHEMICAL BEHAVIOUR OF IODINE AND CESIUM SPECIES COULD BE STATED AS FOLLOWS: 1. TO DEVELOP A MODEL OR CORRELATION, BASED ON THE COLLISION FREQUENCY IN A GAS MIXTURE, UNDER GIVEN THERMALDYNAMIC CONDITIONS, TO EXPLAIN THE BEHAVIOUR OF IODINE AND CESIUM UNDER LOW CONCENTRATION DURING THEIR TRANSPORT WITHOUT INTRODUCING THE HYPOTHESIS OF EQUILIBRIUM CONDITIONS. 2. THE MODEL WILL BE VALIDATED AGAINST AVAILABLE EXPERIMENTS, SUCH AS OECD/LOFT-FP-1 AND FP-2 AND OTHERS IN THE OPEN LITERATURE. THE BASIC OBJECTIVES RELATED TO RESUSPENSION COULD BE STATED AS FOLLOWS: 1. TO CLASSIFY, ANALYSE AND STUDY EXHAUSTIVELY THE STATE-OF-ART. 2. THE MODEL OR MODELS SELECTED, OR NEWLY DEVELOPED, WOULD BE SUBJECTED TO A SENSITIVITY ANALYSIS TO DETERMINE THE MOST IMPORTANT PARAMETERS. 3. FINALLY, AFTER CHECKING THE VALIDITY OF THE THEORETICAL MODELS AND CORRELATIONS SELECTED OR DEVELOPED, THEY COULD BE INCORPORATED INTO A TRANSPORT CODE SUCH AS TRAP-MELT 2.2. THE RESEARCH WILL BE SUBDIVIDED INTO FOUR TASKS: TASK 1 IT WILL CONSIST IN THE PREPARATION OF A STATE-OF-THE-ART REPORT ON THE IODINE AND CESIUM KINETICS. FOR RESUSPENSION IT WILL BE A COMPREHENSIVE REPORT IDENTIFYING THE BEST AVAILABLE MODELS, IF ANY, AND THEIR CROSS VERIFICATION AGAINST THE APPROPRIATE DATA BANK. TASK 2 IT WILL CONSIST IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF A MODEL FOR I AND CS BEHAVIOUR AND IN THE TESTING OF IT AGAINST EXPERIMENTAL EVIDENCE. FOR RESUSPENSION THIS TASK WILL BE PERFORMED ONLY IF IT IS FELT THAT NO GOOD MODEL IS AVAILABLE. TASK 3 IT WILL CONSIST IN A SENSITIVITY STUDY OF THE I/CS BEHAVIOUR AND RESUSPENSION MODELS WHICH HAS BEEN SELECTED. TASK 4 THE NEW MODEL FOR RESUSPENSION WILL BE INCLUDED INTO A CODE AND SUBJECTED TO TESTING AND VERIFICATION AGAINST EXPERIMENTAL DATA.
