HEAT PUMP FOR ENERGY RECOVERY FROM TEXTILE PLANT WASH WATER

Objectif

Mainly to reduce energy consumption of fuel oil and electricity by use of heat pump and heat exchanger.
Annual energy savings are 870 TOE and 5880 Mwh.
It is also expected to increase productivity by decreasing heating time of process water.

In the textile industry, important amounts of hot water are used for the processing of textiles and afterwards directly evacuated towards the drain at an average temperature of 27 deg. By collecting this waste water and feeding it into a storage tank, it would become possible to transfer the heat to fresh water.
Transfer of heat would be done in two stages, firstly by means of heat exchanger and secondly by means of the heat pump. The size of these two equipments is the result of an optimization between efficiency and costs. Fresh water temperature is raised up to 60 deg. Total heat recovered would be of 2000 Kw.
Due to corrosive and fibre loaded water, heat exchanger and evaporator would be of special design, using quick-opening water box. Materials used would be stainless steel or epoxy coated steel. These techniques would permit faster cleaning. As fuel oil is used whilst cleaning, shortening maintenance time allows minimum use of fuel oil.
