Objective To construct, install and test a range of standardised, axial flow, tubular PROPELLER turbines of simplified construction. The design has been standardised in order to obtain an economic scale of design, construction and installation whilst maintaining high efficiency.Three plants have been realized generally respecting the technical characteristics foreseen during the project. Having the conditions of nominal head stage, the development power is the same above mentioned. In the periods of working the output energy is included between 52 and 56% of the theoretic maximum value.The working has been influenced by the great lack of water in the last years.Originally two sites were proposed for this project, however neither could be obtained and the project is now based on three new sites, each of which has different hydraulic conditions, in order to demonstrate the application of the equipment across the full range.
