Objectif To demonstrate the operation and efficiency of a 10 kW WT based autonomous power system.Innovation lies on the new WT type and the proposed total energy strategy for stand-alone system. The AEROWATT 10 kW WT is proposed in order to reduce costs and improve cost effectiveness of such installations. Modifications proposed concern the WT foundations and the load management system able to supply heat and electricity involving battery storage. The wind turbine is made by VERGNET (FR), type AEROWATT 10 kW, downwind with simple blade pitch control system. It uses earth-angor foundations and has an asynchronous 10 kW generator with 7,5 m rotor diameter. The produced electricity will be directly stored in low voltage batteries, from where, using proper inverters, d.c and a.c circuits will be supplied. The total annual yield is estimated at 35,000 kWh.
