Cel The aim of the project was to develop computer aided interpretation stations to meet all the requirements of explorers.The development of an integrated as well as a portable package was initiated during the Phase I of the ACCESS project.Basis tools and routines were built up to be used by subsequent applications.It is definetely too early to conclude on a project which is still going on (see ACCESS Phase II). Most of the application modules give satisfactory results. However, some improvements as far as performance is concerned are to be implemented. refThe phase I of the project was subdivided into two sub-phases. Sub-phase 1 deals with the Kernel of the software. Specialized routines to be used by any applications were developed and thoroughly tested to ensure an user friendly dialog between man and machine. Other subroutines are dedicated to the management of the data (extensive use of a relational data base structure). A graphic Editor was developed to manipulate the graphic objects (ACCESS uses graphics extensively). A numeric Interpretor was set up to allow the user to customize the software whenerver requested.Sub-phase 2 deals with some of the applications in relation to the interpretation, The topographical module will manage constant data i. e. limits of concessions, well locations, seismic profiles.. . The single well module will carry out the log interpretation while multiwell module will work on several wells to allow cross sections, correlations, average value calculations for instance. Geophysical data will beused through several applications modules such as Horizon (Management of any kind of horizon), Velocity (time vs depth conversion), Trace Attributes (processing of signals), Synthetic Seismograph, Modelling through Ray Tracing.
