Obiettivo The project aims to demonstrate the realization of 2 innovative solar components integrated in the building structure:a) a solar collector wall with varying configuration (actif and passif) with a polycarbonate cover;b) a special roof configuration with multiple functions daylighting, solar energy captation and integration of tubing for the air treatment.The project consists of a polyfunctional building of 10.000 cubic meters, divided in 3 zones:1) reports zone;2) public zone, entrance, meeting room;3) offices.The solar technologies foreseen in the project are:a) solar air collectors integrated in the south wall which preheat the ventilation air in winter time and function as a solar chimney in summer time (total surface: about 200 m2);b) direct gain through south oriented sheds integrated in the roof, integrated with a prevision for destratification of the warm air (about 72 m2).The other actions foreseen to reduce the energy needs are:- thermal insulation of the building (more than foreseen by law);- heat pump;- cogeneration;- a computerized control of the heating and cooling system.The thermal characterization of the building are:- global heat loss coefficient (conduction + ventilation): 7 kWK;- daily internal gains: 25 kWh/day;- air collectors, south and vertical, optical efficiency 82%. The air collectors produce 45 MWh heat per year, covering about 20% of the heating needs.The energy gains of the roof sheds are estimated at 13 MWh/year.The energy saving by destratification of the air is about 5% of the heat needs or 9 MWh/year.The costs of the solar components are estimated at about 350 ECU/m2 for the solar air collectors and the solar sheds.
