PV/WIND HYBRID GENERATORS FOR TELEPHONE CENTRAL STATIONS

Objective

To demonstrate the reliability of alternative energy sources (instead of power lines or Diesel generators) in mountain region of the island Martinique, especially for telecomunication needs.

At two sites of the island Martinique (northern part: Bezaudin; southern part: Josseaud) hybrid wind/pv plants supply power (about 10 kWp each) for telephone switching exchanges and transmitters. The two primary sources charge the same 48 V battery. The wind system is supplied by Aerowatt.
