Objectif To show that a novel triple fired cupola will give significant energy and cost benefits over existing melting technology.A new 15 tph triple fired, lined, cold blust cupola and cleaning plant will be build replacing part of the coke burdenused for fusion with gas. This technology can be used with the already tested sub-tuyere, oxygen injected, lined cupola giving additional benefits in the plant peripherals. Innovative aspects: triple firing is novel in its concept and technology giving flexibility in the choice of fuels (low quality coke oil or gas).
