WINDPARK NISDORF SUED MECKLENBURG-VORPOMMERN

Obiettivo

It is the aim of the project to use wind energy for generating electricity by setting on and operating ten wind plants in the form of a wind farm, to prove the economical work of wind plants at the inshore waters (Bodden) and to encourage the propagation of wind produced electricity. The electricity produced by the wind farm will be sold to the utility HEVAG Rostock. A wind farm of this size does not exist so far in the new Laender of the Federal Republic of Germany and is, therefore, an innovation in East Germany.
In the wind farm "Nisdorf Sued" the wind plant "MICON M 750" developed recently by the Danish firm "MICON A/S" with a nominal power of 400 kW is being tested and its subsequent introduction to the market prepared.
The official inauguration of the wind farm took place on 15th May 1993. The average annual wind speed is 5,20 m/sec at a hight of 30 meters. The wind farm produced 9,4 GWh until December 31, 1995. The wind turbines are controlled via modem and are remotely controlled. Production up to 31.12.1993 was 3 600 000 kWh.
The company "Windkraft Nisdorf GmbH" was founded by 5 partners, who are all from the new Laender, representing different fields: electrical engineer, economist, civil engineer, lawyer and natural scientist. They met in Spring 1991 to found a community of interest which, due to its structure, offered good preprequisites for a success of the project.
After the authorities of Altenpleen and Neu-Bartelshagen near Stralsund had given their assent to the installation of wind plants, the possibility of feeding the electricity produced into the supply system of HEVAG Hostock was considered. On 4 October 1991 HEVAG Hostock gave permission to feed 3 MW into the 20 kV intermediate-high-voltage line, which runs parallel to the coastline of the Grabow below Nisdorf and thus, offers favourable conditions for feeding the generated electricity.
Site for the plants were made available and considered by the authorities in their land use plans. All sites envisaged are registered areas of the local governments or the trust company, respectively, which are rented or were bought by the company.
As can be seen in the wind expert opinion, the annual average wind speed at a height of 10 m only amounts to 4.4 m/sec and at a height of 30 m - to 6.2 m/sec. 80% of the wind energy potential comes from the free water surface of the Bodden Grabow and thus, ensures an economical operation of the wind farm.
Our plans for the wind farm envisage 10 plants (4 types) of Danish and German make with a total nominal power of 2.9 MW. The types ENERCON 33, MICON M530 and NORDTANK NTK 300 are known to be well-tried and successful plants. Medium sizes were chosen because they appear to be the most efficient ones at the wind speeds prevailing at the site of the wind farm and show a favourable price-eficiency-ration.
MICON 750 is a prototype of the Danish firm "MICON A/S" in Randers, which will be built for the first time in 1992 in a limited number and tested in the wind farm "Nisdorf SUED" under theconditions of the coastal area of East Germany (agreement with the firm "MICON A/S.).
In December 1991 the company was granted a financial support of 25% of the deductible costs for the project within the framework of the EC-promotion programme "Thermie" for the new Laender. From the Federal Ministry for Research and Technology (BMFT) the company received subsidies for 9 of the 10 plants.
The assent to finance the wind farm was given by the savings bank in Stralsund. A licence was requested by the National Authority for Environment and Nature in Stralsund (noise prevention procedure). As the company was not granted the licence, a new site to the west of Nisdorf Sued was found. The new site was close to Kuestrow village, having an estimated annual mean wind speed of 5.7 m/s instead of 6.2 m/s at 30 m a.g.l. of the originally selected site. The change of site was granted by the Commission in September 1992.
