Objective The objective of the project is to detect mycoplasma-like organisms (MLO), which can cause severe and different diseases in various fruit plants in order to provide technology for producing healthy planting materials for pome and stone fruits. This has to be achieved by using the traditional techniques of investigation such as fluorescence microscopy and those based on modern DNA technology such as nucleic acid hybridisation and polymerase chain reaction.
