Obiettivo Aims of project: To investigate, from an ergonomics angle, the measures necessary to transform an experimental robotised measuring cell into a semi-industrial version installed on a rolling mill, for measuring the dimensions of the upper half of long products while still hot. To study the ergonomics and safety aspects involved in developing an industrial version of the measuring cell, i.e. one capable of measuring the complete geometry of the rolled product. Study of the safety and ergonomics aspects so as to establish the measures necessary to ensure the safety of plant and personnel. This point includes: the creation of a multidisciplinary working group; a functional analysis of the measuring cell; a preliminary analysis of the risks; an analysis of the types of malfunction and their effects; a study of the measures necessary to guarantee safety (safety information and procedures); participation in seminars on robot safety; a bibliographic study of robot safety (standards, recommendations, etc.); development of a computer programme for identifying the risks specific to a steelmaking site. Consideration of the socio-ergonomic aspects (operating instructions). Physical design of the workstations in two control cabins (the saw cabin and the sample-monitoring cabin). Design of ergonomic interfaces for operators in the above-mentioned cabins, based on safety data. Object of the research: Practical know-how concerning the integration and operation of robotised installations in the steel sector is at present non-existent, particularly as regards the safety aspect and the question of the operator/robot interface.
