Cel - Toxicological studies: development and validation of a set of rapid, low-cost in-vitro test systems to screen biological and toxicological properties of relevant food contaminants; limitation of animal experimentation; improvement of food quality through better characterisation of food contaminants' biological properties; Europe- wide harmonisation of in-vitro food safety test methods. - Objectives of real-time analysis of residues: to optimise sample pre-treatment for extraction of chemical residues from foods; to develop chromatographic/mass spectrometric methods for residue analysis such that real-time monitoring for a variety of compounds at the required specificity and sensitivity ; and to integrate these methods to provide robust, versatile residue monitoring systems for the food industry.Participating institutions from Member Countries: D, DK, IRL, NL, UK So far, third countries have shown no interest in this project.
