Responsible ICT Network

Project description

Support to advance Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in the ICT sector

R-ICT aims to: Ensure coherent and consistent coordination of CSR issues in the ICT sector, in order to encourage and enable enterprises across the EU to apply and promote CSR, through strategic partnerships with relevant stakeholders, based on good practices that show the societal benefits that can be delivered by ICT.R-ICT is relevant to ICT-PSP as it is in line with and contributes to the DAE, promotes deployment of digital technologies in CSR and more effective and responsible CSR practice in digital technology; addresses obstacles hindering the spread of CSR in the ICT sector; and actively involves SMEs.The work plan is structured to ensure efficient management (WP1) and extensive, international dissemination (WP6), alongside technical work packages addressing Cross Cutting Themes (WP2); People (WP3); Planet (WP4); and CSR for the future (WP5). Thematic work revolves around a 2 pillar structure, covering challenges and solutions related to CSR in the ICT sector (pillar 1), backed up by an analysis (and adaptation where necessary and feasible) of ICT tools that can be used to promote CSR and thus help to address some of the identified challenges (pillar 2).Activities cover analysis of the state of the art (challenges, good practices, ideas, experience), stakeholder Meeting, bringing together R-ICT members and other interested stakeholders and experts and development of the WP outputs (report, standards, strategic approach, action plan for the ICT sector and for phase 2 of R-ICT, using remote exchange, participation, consulting and testing.R-ICT members share expertise and ideas in the field of CSR and ICT, in order to streamline discussion and dialogues. The 10 partners cover 8 countries and represent all key stakeholder groups. They have all the necessary capabilities and commitment to carry out tasks, to achieve R-ICT's ambitious objectives and to involve other interested actors, including enterprises interested in testing and adopting R-ICT outcomes.
