Socio-ergonomic design aspects of bringing a robotized bricking system into industrial operations

Objective

The project will carry forward the results of ECSC project 7249/11/003 to meet the new ergonomic requirements which have arisen as a result of modifications to the original technical specifications of the robotized bricklaying unit which was the subject of the earlier study.

In particular it will determine the requirements to modify the socio-ergonomic design aspects which differ from the original concept in respect of:

- Work organisation.

- The psychological aspects of working in isolated conditions.

- The ergonomic aspects of an appropriate process-simulator.

Ways and Means to Achieve the Work

Using standard techniques the ergonomic requirements in the three areas noted above will be determined.

Following the incorporation of the requirements into the prototype robotized system, the results will be validated operationally and where necessary appropriate modifications made to the system.
