Ergonomics studies of the man/machine interface as part of the SACHEM project (Stage2)

Objective

The project will concern the ergonomics requirements of the project SACHEM which is an "intelligent" system to aid blast furnace control.

The work to be undertaken in the project will be that associated with Stage 2 of the SACHEM project. It will define the associated socio-technical system and identify operator's needs and their expectations of SACHEM including:

- human aspects,

- cognitive-psychological demands,

- user-compatible hardware and software,

- the applicability and development capacity of SACHEM.

The results will be incorporated in the system's specification to be implemented.

Ways and Means to Achieve the Work

The definition of the ergonomics will be based on:

- design criteria (norms and directives),

- a literature study (qualities expected from a computer interface),

- inspection and analysis of similar system (strong and weak points),

- analysis of user functions (adaptation to tasks),

- requirements expressed by user groups.

Fields of science (EuroSciVoc)

CORDIS classifies projects with EuroSciVoc, a multilingual taxonomy of fields of science, through a semi-automatic process based on NLP techniques. See: The European Science Vocabulary.
