Phenomenology of the Standard Model and alternatives for present and future high energy colliders

Objetivo

Our project aims to develop the theoretical work necessary to obtain the highest benefits from the European experimental high energy particle colliders. As a by-product, and important in its own right, this project also aims to develop advanced computational techniques.

The planned investigation is centred on four areas: (i) precision tests of the standard model, (ii) Higgs particle searches, (iii) extensions of the standard model, and (iv) background studies.
The investigation is centred on 4 areas: precision tests of the standard model, Higgs particle searches, extensions of the standard model, and background studies. Analytical and numerical methods for evaluating massive 2-loop self energy diagrams have been developed. Four fermion production at electron positron colliders, model independent Higgs boson mass limits and electroweak quantum corrections to masses and decays have been calculated. Structure functions, the transverse energy flow, and other quantum chromodynamics (QCD) processes have been studied, and quantum electrodynamics (QED) and electroweak corrections to deep inelastic scattering have been evaluated. This work includes the development of symbolic and numerical program of wider use.
