Dynamics Stochastics, Complexity-Theory and Applications

Objectif

Nonlinearity, stochasticity and complexity are local topics of the international research effort, not only in mathematics, but in a host of other disciplines where mathematical models with these characteristics are helpful to achieve a better understanding of complex, fluctuating and/or chaotic phenomena. Physics is prototypical because of its long standing dialogue with mathematics, but biology various branches of engineering and chemistry, economics and all sciences dealing with a more interactive society are increasingly aware of the pertinence of such modelling.

The main project goals are:
- infinite dimensional stochastic analysis;
- quantum Dynamics, percolation and cellular automata;
- stochastic processes and neural transmission;
- stability and turbulence;
- quantum complexity and molecular control;
- computer simulation of complex systems;
- the quantum Boltzmann equation.

Physics is prototypical because of its long standing dialogue with mathematics, but biology, various branches of engineering and chemistry, economics and all sciences dealing with a more interactive society are increasingly aware of the pertinence of such modelling. The main research areas are: infinite dimensional stochastic analysis; quantum dynamics, percolation and cellular automata; stochastic processes and neural transmission; stability and turbulence; quantum complexity and molecular control; computer simulation of complex systems; the quantum Boltzmann equation. Studies have been carried out on stochastic processes in hierarchical structures, application to turbulence and cooperation competition systems, Wick calculus in Gaussian analysis and asymmetric neural networks.
