Fattibilita' di un systema informativointegrato per la gestione dei rischi industriali su scala regionale/subregionale

Cel

A broad research with the main objective to determine the feasibility of using state of the art simulation software in modelling accidents resulting from explosions (ARE) is proposed.
It is a complement and extension to two main tasks of the project N. EV5V-CT92-0095, coordinated by the Consorzio Venezia Disinquinamento (CVD) and it will be conducted in the laboratory ''Simulation Modeling in Industry" (SMI) at the Technical University Sofia (TUS), Bulgaria. SMI is the Coordinator of the EC-sponsored TEMPUS project N. JEP 2605-92/2 which aims to creating a Centre of Excellence in simulation modelling at TUS, with a main objective in establishing collaboration with partners from Bulgaria and the EC which need assistance in simulation studies. The research conforms to the main objective of the project EV5V-CT92-0095 which is developing models to simulate industrial risks. It will concentrate on ARE models with an accent on confined and semiconfined explosions. State-of-the-art techniques such as computer simulation modelling, fuzzy logic, experiment design techniques, chaos, computer graphics and computer animation will be employed. Most advanced simulation software and original ly developed software, running initially on IBM PC platforms, will be used. Accent is placed on the quality of cooperation activities which include short and collaborative work visits, joint publications. Expected achievements are: review of the existing models for ARE and selection of the most adequate ones for informatical implementation in the context of the EV5V-CT92-0095 project; development of expertise in applying simulation in ARE and specifically in cases where confined and semiconfined explosions appear; initial implementation of the results to industrial regions in Bulgaria (chemical plants, refineries, etc.). The proposal is expected to contribute to the objectives of the project with further development of experties in using simulation modeling techniques for ARE modeling; extending the scope of the original project; towards the overall definition of conceptual risk simulation model.
