Meteorological factors influencing slope stability and slope movement type: evaluation of hazard prone areas

Objective

The proposal relates to the analysis of the Bohemian massif landslides in the last one thousand year and the correlation with meteoclimatic factors; the choosen area reflect the central Europe meteoclimatic conditions, giving a useful integration to the whole general project.
The activities can be summarized in the following points: . updating of the basis of related historical data on landslides in the region of Bohemian Massif and its analysis; .
collecting the historical data related to meteoclimati conditions in occurrence of slide phenomena; .
Selection of well documented landslides and detailed analysis in selected areas of bohemian Massif region (Labe Canyon, Sandstone; Krusne Hory Mts, Crystalline); Correlation of meteo-climatic data and release of landslides;
.
Collection of the state of the art methods for regional instability detection and description and evaluation of different mapping methods forslide prone areas.
Stability calculations for different slides; Identification of safety measures; .
Co-operation to the realisation of Suggestion of principles for European Guidelines on slope protection.

The results of the activities can be identified in the evaluation of slope instability in soil and rock masses specially related to climatic changes; the determination of slide hazard related to climatic, geomorphologic and land use conditions; the development of methods and criteria for identification of slide prone areas; the realization of suggestion of principles for European guidelines on slope protection. These results are perfectly integrated in the on going activities of the Main Project.
