The development of strategies and networks to promote the development of wind energy in Europe by means of a media development programme, the publication of strategy and other documents and the establishment of codes of practice

Obiettivo

The British and European Wind Energy Associations which together have over 13000 members and almost 100 corporate members will work together to continue the promotion of wind energy development in Europe which has reached a crucial stage with 1400 MW already installed. This calls for detailed attention to responding to and nurturing public and political opinion which is now reacting to the windfarms already built. It is now essential to ensure continued public and political support in order to sustain and grow the European market as EU member states develop legislative and fiscal frameworks to support Renewable Energy. The tasks to be carried out are under three main headings as follows:
1. The development of a media plan to take a proactive stance to the promotion of wind energy. This plan will be implemented in the UK and its efficacy monitored prior to the production of a 'generic' plan for use in other EU member states.
2. The publication of strategy documents and other publications aimed at a variety of audiences to include politicians, the media, educationalists, planners and others.
3. The development and publication of an industry code of practice.
