Objective
What is the state of health and incidence of disease (morbidity) among the steelworker population studied, based on a sample of 7 500 workers?
Is the morbidity profile specific to the steel industry or is it similar to that among a general population of the same age?
Does a study of the data reveal groups with a higher incidence of disease?
On the basis of the findings, can a general and specific health programme be prepared?
What means can be used to publicise the health programme (brochures, leaflets, posters, electronic media)?
An analysis of the records of absences from work, in collaboration with the medical monitoring division of the Ministry of Social Security.

METHODS AND MEANS BY WHICH THE AIMS ARE TO BE ACHIEVED
Processing of statistics on sickness certificates submitted on behalf of workers
Processing of data from the systematic health screening of the worker population
