Objective The main objective of the project is to develop a methodology for establishing transport databases and information systems required for strategic transport planning at European level, and which will serve DG VII as a basis for Strategic decisions. This information system should consist of clearly structured data on transport and infrastructure, together with data on the determining factors of mobility and data on the economic, social and environmental impact of transport. Systems for making this information available to the main users also form part of the work.This research will be conducted in accordance with the objectives laid down in the 4th Framework Programme, in particular with reference to the other tasks of Strategic Research and specific programmes of the 4th Framework.
