Advanced method of qualitative analysis based on spectroscopic diagnostic of non-equilibrium laser plasma: theory and experiment

Cel

An advanced method of chemical composition of solid bodies and gas mixtures will be developed within the framework of this project. It will be based on precise measurements and analysis of plasma spectrum during laser action. The advantages of the method are: universality, non-contact, possibility of application at long distances, high spatial resolution, short duration, possibility of analysis of complex chemical composition of the object.

The successful application of this method is possible only in the case of the precise calibration of measuring devices and the correct recognition and identification of tens or even hundreds of spectrum lines. The problem is extremely complicated and requires the development of an appropriate scientific background, including special software.

The theoretical part of the project includes the development of a set of specialized programs intended for numerical simulation of dynamics of non-equilibrium low-temperature plasma and its spectrum using non-equilibrium radiative gas dynamics approximation. The microlevel process kinetics and main mechanisms of spectrum line broadening (of Doppler, Lorentz, Voigt, Stark) are partially included.

The experiments will be conducted with a TEA-CO2 laser and a XeCl excimer laser. Plasma spectra, composition and line profiles will be determined.
