Obiettivo The primary objective is to ensure that European organisations benefit from the experience of those who have successfully implemented Process Improvement programmes and which have been running long enough to demonstrate tangible benefits to their personnel and to the companies. The SPIDER project will demonstrate how organisations can learn from the past to improve the future and is a programme designed to build awareness and accelerate adoption of software process improvement practices throughout Europe.ACTIONSDissemination is being achieved primarily via the organisation and running of a series of 12 seminars across Europe. These events will provide the opportunity for European industry representatives to listen to and discuss the lessons, experience and guidance from the leading Process Improvement implementors and practitioners. The seminar programme itself will be supported by documentation covering the case study material and publications of various types will be available by request via email (Internet/World Wide Web, etc.). Electronic communication will also be used to disseminate information on new trends in Process Improvement and to promote the seminar events.EXPECTED IMPACTSPIDER will encourage organisations to maintain contact with the leading Process Improvement practitioners and with organisations in a similar position to their own. This will help them gain fast track insights and to greatly improve their own chances of success when setting up Process Improvement programmes. The companies actively involved in disseminating their experience will also benefit from contact with each other as well as from feedback gained from others involved or wishing to be involved in Process Improvement.SPIDER is also intended to provide feedback to initiatives such as SPICE in order to ensure they are meeting the real needs of industry.
