Femtosecond and Near-Field Spectroscopy of Cavity Polaritons

Objective

The main goal of the project is the study of new quantum electrodynamical phenomena in microcavities. In particular generation of squeezed photons in conditions of nonstationary Casimir effect in microcavity is to be studied by use of femtosecond laser pulses.

Localization and backscattering of photons and excitations in low-dimensional random media will be investigated. Spectroscopy and STM/AFM studies of nanostructures (quantum wells, quantum dots) will be provided. Near-field optical investigations of nanostructures will be fulfilled to study nanolocal linear and nonlinear optical properties.

New methods of nanolocal optical investigations with simultaneous time resolution (in femto/picosecond region) will be developed. Nanolocal femtosecond optical spectroscopy of single nanostructures will be obtained.
