Objective In summary the objectives of the project are:- To extend and deepen the understanding of the fundamental mechanical behaviour of unbound granular materials.- To provide a means of characterising this behaviour in a manner suitable for application in pavement design and performance prediction, partly by developing appropriate models.- To attempt to validate this description with real pavement performance data.- To apply the knowledge gained to develop better materials and better methods of use.- To draft the consequent findings in a manner appropriate for European pavement design and maintenance personnel. %The demonstration sites are expected to be: - Finland-VT 4 in Northern Finland - Finland-2 no.
