Objective
Aims: (1). To demonstrate the feasibility of a 50% saving in energy for intermittently occupied buildings (schools, offices etc). (2). To test and develop an innovative low energy building code based on energy targets. INNOVATION: Common methodology applied to all buildings in this integrated quality targeted proposal which will include energy rationalisation, indoor air quality and environmental aspects. Some of the innovative features applied to the 4 buildings will include: solar gain and daylighting; good summer comfort without mechanical air conditioning, performance targeting and Advanced Building Controls.
