Objetivo Management personnel and employees in SMEs are expected to an ever-increasing extent to have not only general but also sector-related foreign-language proficiency, which has to be acquired through continuing training. However, only very few SMEs assess their training requirements on an ongoing basis and those that do so encounter difficulty in selecting training programmes suited to their needs. The aim of this project is, therefore, to create, on the basis of tools already developed (under LINGUA), a new set of tools with which structures operating in specific sectors (employers' federations, trade unions) can assist SMEs in determining their training needs in the area of foreign languages and obtaining appropriate information on the CVT programmes available.This set of instruments is to be tested in various sectors in the partner countries, thus establishing their foreign-language needs as examples. Based on this data, two multimedia CVT modules will be developed for selected foreign-language requirements and then tested. These modules will be non-company specific and, instead, relate to a sector as a whole. They will also be modules for which there are no equivalent programmes on the training market providing the level of quality required.ImpactThe project will assist SMEs in selecting training programmes suited to their needs.
