Objective Environmental issues during the last decade have given rise to regulations directly affecting industry. Accordingly, changes in production processes have occurred, notably with regard to working methods and equipment. This project seeks to provide metal sector companies with relevant training in the environmental field. The training will particularly be oriented at SMEs and companies that find it difficult to send workers to training centres due to geographical distance. The aim is to create an open and distance training system to train metal sector SMEs workers as environmental experts. The first part of the work is a study of environmental training needs of the target group in four different EU countries. On the basis of the results obtained, the 'FAMA' system will be developed, using computer assisted training as the main medium for learning. Written documentation, in the form of a didactic guide, will also be produced. An additional 'FAMA' system for training trainers is also planned. Specific written documentation for trainers and a follow-up guide for the system will also be produced. ImpactThe main consequences of this project will be changes in workers' professional competences and increased employment opportunities for better qualified personnel.Contract number : E/96/1/00347/PI/I.1.1.b/FPCDomaine : Continuing vocational trainingContents : Training in environmental protection New job profiles Training in SMEsProducts : Short training courses Group training with tutor Video cassette Public : Workers in companies Managers/ Owners of SMES Young graduates Programme(s) ET-LEONARDO DA VINCI 1 - Action programme for the implementation of a European Community vocational training policy Leonardo da Vinci, 1995-1999 Topic(s) I.1.1.b - Continuing vocational training arrangements Call for proposal Data not available Funding Scheme CSC - Cost-sharing contracts Coordinator FUNDACIÓN CONFEMETAL EU contribution No data Address PRINCIPE DE VERGARA 74 28006 Madrid Spain See on map Total cost No data
