Objective Florists have to cope with steadily growing competition from other outlets such as supermarkets and garden centres, which cut price but do not maintain quality. It has therefore become important for florists to distinguish themselves in quality and craftsmanship. In most countries however, the level of vocational training is not enough to protect the market position of florists and floral designers. This project aims to give vocational training a boost by developing top level training (NVQ level V) in floral design. The programme of certificated training modules will lead to the title of 'European Master in Floral Design', which will be recognised by the European Federation of Professional Florists' Groups (FEUPF). Aside from the masters degree, the partners will formulate criteria that European training centres will have to meet in order to be able to train students at this level.ImpactThe competitive position of florists and floral designers will be enhanced as a result of this project. As this diploma will be recognised throughout Europe, it will be easier for florists to obtain work in other countries.Contract number : NL/96/1/01024/PI/I.1.1.b/FPCDomaine : Continuing vocational trainingContents : Vocational qualifications Training in SMEs Products : Trainig networks and consortia Group training with tutor Computer/electronic-based materials Public : Young people in training Young workers Trainers, designers & managers of training programmes Programme(s) ET-LEONARDO DA VINCI 1 - Action programme for the implementation of a European Community vocational training policy Leonardo da Vinci, 1995-1999 Topic(s) I.1.1.b - Continuing vocational training arrangements Call for proposal Data not available Funding Scheme CSC - Cost-sharing contracts Coordinator VERENIGING BLOEMIST WINKELIERS (VBW) EU contribution No data Address DE SCHUTTERIJ 1 3905 PJ Veenendaal Netherlands See on map Total cost No data
