Objective
The overall objective of NEPAIR is to develop the technical basis, i.e. methodology, for a new emissions parameter covering all flight phases of aircraft operation. Innovative aspects will be
(i) an understanding of how current LTO cycle and in flight emissions are related,
(ii) methodology applicable to all aircraft flight phases, linking benefits to emissions produced (productivity) and
(iii) inclusion of important emissions not currently covered by regulation.
NEPAIR outputs will provide the Commission, Member States and industry with a sound technical, cost-effective and fair basis for implementation of a new emissions parameter (and any new Standards) within the ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organization) process, thus maintaining the competitive position of the European aviation industry.
