Pneumatic grain cleaner

Obiettivo

This pneumatic grain cleaner will remove impurities from grain, oil seed, and pulses e.g. parasites, dust and chaff. There are three efficient moving parts that require low power inputs and minimum servicing. A simple but effective centrifugal fan is coupled to round ducting approx 200 mm in diameter. This ducting is formed in a spiral of three coils through which an electric fan will produce an air velocity up to 100 km per hour. Grain is introduced via the cell wheel and immediately accelerated to the region of 80 km per hour. When the grain is blown around the coils, centrifugal force drives the grain outwards, colliding with the surface of the coils. The surface within the coils is abrasive and haste effect of thrashing untraced grain and killing weevils and mites. The grain then enters the second stage of the cleaner. This is the cyclone stage. The cyclone is made up of two compartments. In the first compartment the lighter materials such as dust and parasites are blown into a collection system. The second compartment is where heavier materials, (e.g. stones and metallic objects) are pneumatically separated from the grain leaving a clean and polished sample.
