Objetivo A study of the impact of the flexibility of employment on the integration of home and work in different parts of Europe. Based upon a survey of 2000 households in 10 countries, the research aims to understand the relationship between home and work according to gender, generation and socio-economic group. The survey will be set within the differing institutional and policy contexts in Europe as well as the cultural configurations around which home and family are organised. Contrasts between post-communist Southern and Central European countries and Western Europe are a particular focus of the analysis because of the particular traditions of work and family in these different contexts.
