Objetivo Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) applications have so far been implemented using proprietary languages closely aligned to the PLC hardware. New PLC, however, provide now development environments enabling the use of higher level languages for the programming of the hardware.The intended research project shall identify main user requirements for such technology and produce functional specifications for tools. It shall analyse currently available tools and find out whether they can be enhanced to meet the requirements.
