Obiettivo OBJECTIVESThe SmartCities Project will design a dynamic smart card and multi application management architecture to allow targeted markets (mainly middle size European cities) to benefit from the numerous advantages of smart card environment without being tied to a unique, proprietary application model. SmartCities also aims to prove the technical and commercial exploitation of multi-owner data sources gathered from the use of the smart card scheme is feasible.DESCRIPTION OF WORKTo achieve these objectives SmartCities will demonstrate the technical feasibility of a plug and play management platform by defining an architecture that can support multi-industry standard interfaces. Associated to this standard architecture SmartCities will also demonstrate the technical feasibility of dynamic management of application at the card and scheme level.As proof of concept, the solutions will be validated by two demonstrators including all the elements of a full scheme (smart cards, terminals, software tools, data analysis servers). Strategic market players both on the technical and user side will participate in SmartCities.
