Objective

The objective of the project is the derivation of appropriate and innovative methodologies based on laboratory and "in situ" testing procedures and modelling techniques in order to validate nor destructive methods, using portable NDT devices, for measuring different aspects of stone mechanical properties for the integrated evaluation of natural stone durability in a real environment. This will be achieved developing existing and innovative test configurations to study uncoupled or coupled Thermo-Hydro-mechanical characteristics of stones; derive criteria and procedures to assess stone durability (micro-structural and mechanical).
