Coordination and dissemination of carbon research results in light of the implementation of kyoto protocol in europe (CARBOEUROPE)

Objetivo

The Kyoto Protocol and its implementation create an urgent need for estimation and accounting of carbon sinks/sources in the biosphere. CARBOEUROPE provides adult-disciplinary, fully integrated framework for the coordination of ongoing carbon research in Europe by the creation of a central structure for communication and harmonisation in order to produce and disseminate integrated products with direct implication to the post-Kyoto negotiations. By synthesizing emerging results and by set-up of a modelling task force, the current uncertainties in cutting across scales are addressed, and carbon balance estimates are verified. issues related to the implementation of the Kyoto protocol. Online and ad hoc consultation to the Commission with expert knowledge and dissemination of research results to stakeholders (industries, forestry) are key objectives of CARBOEUROPE.
