Objectif Retinal degenerations are a major cause of blindness in the European Union. The aim of this proposal is to develop somatic gene therapy for these conditions. The central issue which must be addressed is the safe and efficient delivery of therapeutic genes to photoreceptor cells. In this proposal we aim to improve our delivery system and assess its efficacy in an animal model.
