Objective Broomrapes require germination stimulants from the roots of their hosts for germination. We will identify the first dedicated step in their biosynthesis, and isolate the corresponding cDNA. The susceptibility to broomrape of transgenic tobacco plants with altered enzyme activities will be studies.
