Bacterial transport proteins - simulation studies of mechanism

Ziel

I have known Marc BAADEN since 1994, the year he began his studies at the Ecole Européenne des Hautes Etudes des Industries Chimiques de Strasbourg, (now Ecole Européenne de Chimie, Polymères et Matériaux de Strasbourg, ECPM), where I teach Physical Chemistry. He was a brillant student and obtained his degree in 1997, placed first in a class of 63, the "Giulio Natta" group. Since 1997, I have cosupervised his doctoral studies along with my colleague, Professor G. WIPFF. Marc BAADEN has all the necessary skills for research: ingenuity, creativity, thoughtfulness, an appetite for work, efficiency and good organisation. He has shown in practice the ability to conduct sophisticated theorectical and experimental studies at the same time. A post doctoral appointment at Oxford University will enable him to extend his mastery of molecular dynamics in the biological domain. I am sure he will carry out excellent work and that his host laboratory will quickly recognise him as a "remarkable post doc". I offer my strongest support to his application for a Marie Curie Award.
